Though to some, Los Angeles, the City of Angels, is a city of gas-masked police and urban mayhem. To others it is a city of glamour, romance, and entertainment. The Greek symbols of comedy and tragedy have not only been adopted by Hollywood, but also by the streets, that live by the mantra of “Smile Now, Cry Later”. To the residents that call L.A. home, barrio life is a daily battle of survival. Everyone draws from different inspirations from Los Angeles and there lies its unique magic. One of the most spirited photographers to capture this urban magic on film is Digital Aztlan’s own Sal Rojas.
